Focus: Multiculturalism in the English-Speaking World
The ideas and the reality of multiculturalism have been the subject of increasing debate over the last decade. At the heart of the ongoing debate is the question of national identity:
- What is it to belong to a nation?
- Who is in and who is out?
- Who decides this?
Depending on the perspective taken, there are different answers to these questions.
In the article on p. 82, we look at the impact of multiculturalism on the English-speaking world with particular attention on the two most influential English-speaking nations, Great Britain and the United States.
